🇪🇸 From Alicante to Malmö: Spain releases the 16 songs of Benidorm-Fest 2024
Get to know the 16 faces from the Spanish preselection
1. Almácor
Benidorm is not so far from his native Villena. With the urban hit "Brillos Platino", Almácor will try to convince the jury and public to get the ticket for Eurovision 2024. So far, he is one of the strongest candidates.
2. Angy Fernández
Singer and actress, Angy Fernández is back on stage to compete to represent Spain in Sweden with “Sé quien soy”. The fans of "Física o química" will remember her for playing Paula in the series.
3. Dellacruz
The proposal by the Canarian Dellacruz for the Benidorm Fest is an urban pop song with electronic touches. He will try to get the Benidorm audience dancing with his "Beso en la mañana".
4. Jorge González
Jorge González tried to represent Spain in Eurovision previously in 2009, when Soraya won, and 2014, where Ruth Lorenzo won the ticket. Now, Jorge will try to get his goal in his third attempt with “Caliente”.
5. Lérica
Tony Mateo and Juan Carlos Arauzo are mixing a variety of styles in “Astronauta”. It combines electronic sounds with the festive character to which the gaditan duo has accustomed the public.
6. Mantra
This trio, formed by Charly Weinberg, Paula Pérez and the ex-meber of Auryn, Carlos Marco, will bring the joy to Benidorm with “Me vas a ver”, a pop, fun and carefree song very autobiographical, the group says.
7. María Peláe
María Peláe arrives at Benidorm Fest with a fusion song that mixes flamenco rhythms, electronic sounds and rock. “Remitente” is kinda autobiographic and will bring the flamenco and andalusian vein to this year’s festival.
8. Marlena
Ana Legazpi and Carolina Moyano, who are Marlena together, talk about a story that has happened to everyone at some point. In “Amor de verano” they have been inspired by the protagonists of the movie 'Grease'.
9. Miss Cafeína
They are one of the most famous bands on the Spanish indie scene. Alberto Jiménez, Antonio Poza and Sergio Sastre are Miss Caffeina, and they compete at Benidorm Fest with a song composed specifically for the festival, "Bla bla bla".
10. Nebulossa
50 kilometers separate Nebulossa's native Pedreguer from Benidorm. This veteran duo arrives at the festival with “Zorra”, an anthem of female empowerment with which they will try to reach the Eurovision Song Contest, as last year, when they competed in San Marino’s selection process.
11. Noan
Benidorm will have this year “Canto del Loco” vibes. Noan puts the pop rock point of the festival. “Te echo de -” is an exciting song, with a heartbreaking chorus, in which he sings about grieving with oneself after suffering a heartbreak.
12. Quique Niza
Quique Niza puts aside his profession as an actor to try his luck in music with his participation in Benidorm. “Prisionero” talks about the idea of having an internal war with yourself and not being able to tell it.
13. Roger Padrós
The catalan side of this year’s Spanish preselection comes with Roger Padrós. “El temps” talks about couples who have been together their entire lives, like the love of our parents or grandparents, the artist says.
14. Sofía Coll
If you think about making a song specially for Eurovision, it will probably sound similar to Sofía’s “Here To Stay”. This singer, actress and presenter presents a reflective song about trusting the path of life and believing in yourself.
15. St. Pedro
St. Pedro has been one of the sensations since his song “Dos extraños (cuarteto de cuerda)” was released. This canarian singer will try to conquer the public and the jury with a bolero, a genre that has never been through Eurovision.
16. Yoly Saa
This galician singer-songwriter arrives with a pop-folk sound that aims to be a reminder for herself. Yoly assures that in “No se me olvida” it is the first time that she uses elements such as taikos, a kind of japanese drums.
